Today was our first day in London. We woke up at about 9 -10ish am. We had a very good night sleep. I think it help being in a safer environment then in a hotel in a strange country. We had a light breakfast and a shower. After that we set up our computers to check emails and alike. While on the internet we had skype open and mum and dad came on, had a nice chat to them. We managed to confuse the dog. He could hear us but couldn’t see us so went looking to see if he could find us. Poor thing! We sat on our laptops till late afternoon. Kyle made lunch of gourmet chicken sandwiches which were quite good. Kyle enjoyed cooking again. He hadn’t cooked for nearly 2 weeks and by lunch tome he was itching to cook.
Later afternoon we went for a walk to explore what was round us. Trish showed us were the train station, the supermarket, and the local shopping strip was. We wondered round for about an hour then headed home. Long after Michael came home and then a friend of theirs from Australia was in town so we headed to the local pub for dinner.
It was quite a nice pub, quaint and charming. The food was much better than I thought. It was more like a restaurant in their type of food then I would have called a pub. I had a beef burger that was a house made patty with chips. The food was reasonably priced too.
After dinner we headed home to fall again into bed. We hadn’t done much all day but by about 10pm we were tired again and ready for bed. So it looks like we beat jet lag for the most part … YAY
